Zambia coach Herve Renard says not having so-called star players in his team has been a major factor in helping them reach the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

Chipolopolo defeated Sudan 3-0 on Saturday with goals from Sunzu Stoppila, Christopher Katongo and James Chamanga.

Renard set his sights on reaching the last four of the 16-team competition, something they had not achieved since 1996, but he will surely now be hoping to go one better with either Ghana or Tunisia standing in their way.

The former Angola boss also feels his players are underrated as they don’t ply their trade for big-name teams.

After their quarter-final clash Renard said: “We are not afraid of any team.

“We expected a difficult match, having played Sudan a couple of times in the CECAFA tournament. We started very well but were sluggish in the second half.”
