Total Nigeria campaigns on road safety

As part of its efforts at ensuring safety on Nigeria roads, especially during the ‘ember’ months, Total Nigeria plc has taken its road safety campaign to members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) branch of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG), in Warri, Delta State. Speaking at the occasion, Francois Boussagol, managing director, Total Nigeria, represented by Simeon Ifere, distribution manager, stressed the need for tanker drivers to be safety conscious while conveying petroleum products from one destination to another. While stating that the firm was passionate about fostering basic safety practices in transportation, Ifere noted that the objective of the organisation was to achieve zero fatality and reduce accidents on our roads. According to the distribution manager, among several efforts of the organisation geared towards ensuring safety on our roads, is the establishment of a world-class ultra-modern driving school and truck inspection centre in Ibadan, south-west, Nigeria, designed for training tanker drivers vis-à-vis modules on defensive driving techniques, product knowledge and characteristics, fire prevention and anti-pollution, etc. ...
