It was at Fountain’s Parents’ Evening which, according to the school principal, Mrs. Bimpe Delano, provides parents an opportunity to rub minds and network. The programme featured presntations from various experts who spoke on educational opportunities abroad.
Among them are Tukeni Obasi of Maple Education Canada International, Mrs. Sumbo Akintonde of Symko Services and Mrs. Ngozi Cole of Kaplan International, Nigeria.
Obasi gave an insight into what it takes to study in Canada. According to her, the country is very conducive to learning, just as its educational system is flexible. It admits thrice a year. She says fees range between $10,000 and $17,000.
"As a foreign student in Canada, you have to wait for six months before you can work outside the campus," Obasi said.
On her part, Akintonde assured the pupils and parents that Canadian education was achievable. She noted that fees could be spread out, while scholarships were also available in some cases.
