THE 49 communities in the oil producing areas of Ondo State, under the aegis of Ilaje AICECUM Congress, weekend, served the executive central committee notice of dissolution.
Consequently, all the AICECUM community chiefs have been enjoined to forward accredited representatives to the congress executive members for ratification and approval for the constitution of a new executive committee.
A statement by the chairman of the congress, Prince Olamiyeye Ibojo, and secretary, Hon Tosanwumi Goddey, said the committee”is now due for dissolution at its expiry date of November 13 this year.”
AICECUM is an acronym of oil communities’ representatives to the oil giant Chevron Nigeria Limited.
According to Ibojo and Goddey, the committee’s dissolution is in accordance with section 9 (4) of the AICECUM constitution. They explained that stakeholders had been informed of the action.
The stakeholders include the paramount traditional ruler of Ilaje, the Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Fredrick Obateru Akinruntan; Ondo State environment commissioner, Chief Sola Ebiseni; OSOPADEC chairman, Debo Ajimuda and Chevron.
“It is the wish of the entire AICECUM communities that the incumbent AICECUM Central Executive Committee stands dissolved at the expiry date of 13 November, 2011 and that members should be prepared to quit without any pressure”, the statement said.
